How to record a Tagtool session with a video camera

Most Tagtool sessions take place in low light environments, so it can be quite tricky to record good quality footage.

Avoiding noise

  • Use a high quality camera :)
  • Use a long shutter setting (tripod recommended). This blurs out the movement, but it's perfectly fine if you plan to speed up the footage later.

Avoiding flicker

With DLP projectors, a strong flicker effect may show up in the recordings. This is very difficult to get rid of afterwards, so make sure you get it right during recording. LCD projectors are usually better suited for recording good quality image. More information about DLP and LCD projectors can be found in the Projector Guide.

To avoid the flicker effect, use a shutter frequency for the camera that is adequate for the projector.
