Tagtool

The Balkans start in Vienna …

Last week Flex, iink, Maki and I produced this little movie. It took us only a few hours from concept to the final clip. Flex studies urbanism and explains:

“Balkanology” is an Exhibition about Southeast European urbanism and architecture. Informal building structures in western Balkan are predominant and develop a new face to the European city. Turbo urbanism and turbo architecture are the main keywords describing this phenomena.

About the Movie Project: It’s a commercial made for a competition held by Architekturzentrum Wien. We used a Tagtool at Rennweg in the third district of Vienna. Prince Metternich, an Austrian statesman in the 19th century, is famously quoted that the Balkans start at Rennweg.

About gnu: Josef Dorninger manages things at OMA International. As a trained youth worker he uses the Tagtool as a productive and playful method to enhance young people's horizon of creativity and sense of teamwork.
