RIP Lord Bike

Posted on August 3rd, 2009 | By Oma | Category: News

We are very sad about the passing away of our friend and collegue Richard Radlherr aka Lord Bike, main programmer of the Nodekit, at the age of 37. On Friday, 17th of July, he went swimming with his friend Erika. They were caught by currents in a river that was still carrying more water than usual after the recent floods. Even though the tragedy was spotted by a passer-by soon after, the firebrigade could only retrieve their lifeless bodies. Both of them died in hospital.

Richard was the main programmer of the Tagtool software (Nodekit). He put in countless hours out of pure enthusiasm, even before we hired him as the first employee at OMA International. His work enabled us to go much further with the Tagtool project than we could have hoped, and he has touched a lot of people through it. Recently he had taken a break from computer work, focusing on renovating his flat and enjoying his hobbies.

Our heartfelt condolences to his and Erika’s families. We lost a true player, a crazed dancer, an eminence. We will continue our work in memory of his spirit.

Oh No! It’s a shock to me.
Yes, we do lost a BIG player in our community.

Even I didn’t know Richard personally,
but I knew his name as the Nodekit programmer since I found Tagtool group two years ago.
His name is everywhere on the Tagtgool Development webpage.
His name is always at the beginnig of every nodes of the Nodekit source codes.
I knew that he was the one who gave me the opportunity to access to the Nodekit, the coolest application for me ever.

My deepest condolences to Richard’s an Erika’s families.

    You will be remembered!
    Good bye, Richard.

  5. What a terrible tragedy.

Though we met Richard only once, at the Tagtool Think Tank this year, we will always remember his pleasant personality – and also his extremely important contribution to the Tagtool project.

We all owe him a great debt of gratitude.
