Tagtool

It’s a method of live animation and real-time cartoon. Every character, figure, drawing can move realtime with the usage of playstation controller. It’s fun and surprising and open for interaction.

Once again we realized a Tagtool Workshop for kids at Juvivo.15 in Vienna. This time the participants were very young (between six and nine) and had only three hours on the Tagtool. So I was curious if we even could achieve a result in that time.

Recently Annika Malz did an Tagtool animation project at the FH Wiesbaden, called “Nachts unter den Eichen”. Showing colorful ghosts haunting the school and spreading creativity.

“When zwei Herzen schlagen” (“When two hearts beat”) is an intercultural love story between the Turkish boy Abdul Kadir and the Austrian girl Doris Meier. The video is the result of a Tagtool workshop for kids at the Viennese youth center Juvivo15.

This is the video of the Tagtool drawing session that we prepared for the party at Schmacke’s place in Berlin last weekend. Some of our Super8 found footage includes scenes shot in Berlin in the 1950′s so we thought it would be good to capture this and use it for the background.

Here’s a another clip from the Huntopia jams in August. There’ll be a live performance of “Hilti’s Irrfahrten” on the 11th of October 2008 at the Kunstwerkstatt Tulln in Austria.
