NEoN is a seven-day international digital arts festival based in Dundee featuring moving image, performance, music and technology driven arts.

NEoN exchanges knowledge in areas such as new business models, digital developments and latest production techniques. It expands on the notion that art, digital media and gaming can come together to explore new collaborations and open up new and exciting projects.

NEoN delivers a packed festival programme of talks, workshops, exhibitions, commissions, screenings, performance and more at many of Dundee’s cultural, business and public spaces. This year’s festival theme is collaboration and legacy that will have a distinct Nordic flavor.

Tagtool (live animation) with Alistair Wilson. Get your hands on Tagtool – a performance-driven visual instrument used on stage and on the street. It serves as a VJ tool, a creative video game, or an intuitive way of creating animation. BBQ provided by Tonic so brave the cold, this is one event that shouldn’t be missed !

It has been 6 months since Freak Store in Venezuela launched the “I Love Munny 2.0″ customizing contest, and due to the overwhelming success of it, they are proud to announce the next workshop which is so aptly titled “I Love Munny 3.0″!!!!

The battle begins on Monday, September 12th and will run until October 19th and all the winners will be announced on Oct 27 at a Munny Party in Caracas Venezuela. All the contestants will be asked to customize their favorite Munny World figure. The winners will be selected at the official “I Love Munny 3.0″ party on October 27th by All-Star judges Tara Mcpherson, Jon Burgerman and Andrew Bell, where the winners in a multitude of different categories can walk away with some seriously cool prizes!

Tagtool session will feature several national illustrators hosted by Bakro.

Elevate, a festival specialising in contemporary music, arts and political discourse, will take place in Graz, Austria from October 20-26.

Performing are some of the leading lights of modern electronic music, with performances on the festival’s Friday night coming from artists as diverse as Acid Mothers Temple and the Melting Paraiso UFO, Planningtorock, Holy Other, Kyle Hall, Hype Williams, Space Dimension Controller, Dylan Ettinger and Mark E.

In the sense of Common Digits, a bridge is constructed between analogue and digital terrains. With pen and game controller, a fusion of the performative and visual takes place in real-time without hitting copy/paste. Whether in a public space or on stage, the light installations of the Graz-born Tagtool activists, Yukon, Marv, and Fnord, engage in an interaction with their environment. After premieres at Elevate 08, the disko404 parties and the Four Elements Festival, the group is set to visually accentuate the opening night of this year’s Elevate Festival. Pay attention, the pixels are their passion.

About Bees and Baddies

“Bee Cinema” is live-improv animation with a bee called Seppi, who goes on exciting adventures with her friends. When the ensemble take to the stage the performers will not know any more than the young audience how the bee cinema will end. The only known factors are the means: music, storytelling, drawing and animation. Some of the stories and characters are improvised on the spot, others are taken from the rich collection of the “Tetete Universe”. The result is an ever-changing celebration of emotions and a convincing gesamtkunstwerk. The ensemble Tetete was awarded the “Junge Ohren” (“Young Ears”) Prize in the category of music and media in 2009.
