# Connecting Devices

Greetings,

I’m a new user and trying to connect my m1 ipad pro to my windows pc, here some things ive tried so far:

I created a local network on my pc, I tried joining on my ipad by toggling the “local area network” button but it doesn’t do anything.

I tried making an online server from my pc and vice versa on the ipad but neither connections worked.

I was able to host an online server between Ipads but not with a pc.

I saw an option for creating an NDI server on the ipad, but how do make it discoverable on my pc? do i need specific peripherals that could allow me to connect them?

any help would be terrific, its a really good app.

Hey,

Make sure to allow any incoming connections from your PC via firewall settings.

If you still not seeing any session - sometimes your Tagtool session is not discoverable because of your network router configuration - then you can try to connect manually via IP address.

To find out the PC´s IP you can type “ipconfig” in your console - then you see the numbers.

Hello,

So I was able to get it to show up after a while, on another hand I was wondering if there were options for wired connections?

I really like to send the animation to other softwares like Touchdesigner and Resolume, but I find a bit of lag and that maybe is just my internet speed.

I did try to send my hdmi output from the iPad Pro to an elgato capture card into my pc. It works alright for the most part but sadly there’s a green flash after the end of each animation loop in tag tool.

Yes, you can use ethernet cables with iPads. You need an USB to ethernet adapter for your iPad - then you can connect your device to the Local Network. It has the best connection speed.

Not sure where the green flash is coming from. Can you send a video of the problem?

mat
