More control on the rhythm/tempo?

I am also one of those that got myself an iPad soon after know about the tool.
playing with it for few days.

I wonder, is there any trick of controlling the animation to match better with the beat of the music? (or control the tempo of movement of different object more precisely?) I see some examples here where people performing live with animation that sync with the music nicely.

I was doing it by tiny double finger movements on the timeline and adjust arbitrary by ear.
when the music is long, the off alignment became prominent.

Or it alway done with combination with other softwares?

Dont have a link for the animation I did but, this image showing it’s basically some figures with small movements. The main animation is the background. Which i’ts quite easy and fun to work on lighting as background for this using tagtool. Except that evey time controlling the tempo of lighting to match the beat of music feels like a game of luck~
